Designing the Truck
I studied pickup truck drawing tutorials and clipart to sketch out a design I was happy with. The main challenge was finding the right balance between enough detail to make it look great and no parts so small they'd fall through the laser cutter tray.
Laser Cutter Setup
With the design finalized, I sent the files to the laser cutter and dialed in the parameters for both the engraved markings and the through-cuts.
Cutting Lessons Learned
The outer profiles cut before the inner details, which threw off the wheel cutouts. A lesson for next time: separate the cuts into layers so the inner geometry is always processed first before the outer boundary is released.
Assembly & Finished Truck
